- "SnowVillage" is a touristic attraction made completely from snow and ice. Open daily 10-19, entrance fee 7 eur/adult. Located between Ylläs and Levi ski centres. - Official ice road to Hailuoto over the sea (10 km) is most likely not yet existing at the time of our raid. We have to use the free-of-charge road ferry (25 min crossing), but be careful not to miss the departure times: 17.00, 18.00, 19.30, 20.30, 21.30, 23.00 and the last one (ordered at harbour, if needed) 00.30. - Hailuoto is known of the reideer moss (lichen) which is the most important nutrition for the reindeer. Anyhow, Hailuoto is not original breeding area of the reindeer, but nowadays some people have started farming also here.

- We will have a common dinner at restaurant "Iltalento" starting at 20:00. I hope we somehow could be there approximately the same time. The restaurant is located at the Hailuoto village centre. Menu: as starter "matsutake mushroom-chicken soup" with a glass of white wine free from the house. The appetizers will be served at a lapp hut next to the restaurant. The buffet table in the restaurant includes two main courses "Elk roast with lingonberry-game sauce" and "Mild smoked salmon with creamed honey-dill sauce" (you can taste both), dessert. >See picture of menu here. Bread and non-alcoholic drinks (water, milk, "homebeer") are included, beer and wine available at the restaurant. The price of this menu is 27,50 and I have a feeling it will really be worth it. The restaurant also serves us a joint breakfast-lunch the next day. It is possible to hire a minibus taxi for transportations between our cottages and the restaurant of you want to enjoy a few more drinks(9km). The restaurant closes at 02:00.

ACCOMMODATION AT:
"Ranta-Sumppu", a lively beachside camping place in summertime. Now we are probably alone there in cabins with cooking equipment, TV, WC and toilet. No bedding, but blankets. 17 eur per person. (will be paid at the restaurant Iltalento)
Location: Drive on 9 km after passing the village centre and you will be there following signs for "Ranta-sumppu" to left. Difficult to miss. The keys will be at our cabin doors. All cabins need to be filled up with 6 persons.http://www.luotokeskus.fi/
